Seminar on int’l human rights held at IU

A seminar on civil rights in Islam and international human rights instruments was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Wednesday (January 13).

IU al-hadith and Islamic studies department organised the seminar.

IU theology and Islamic studies faculty dean Professor Muhammad Solaiman addressed the seminar as the chief guest while al-hadith and Islamic studies department Professor M Moinul Haque spoke as the special guest with the departmental chairman Professor Syed Maksudur Rahman was in the chair.

IU al-hadith department Professor Aktar Hossain and al-fiqh and legal studies department associate Professor Mohammed Nasir Uddin delivered the speech as the discussants.

Abdullah Al-Mamun, a PhD fellow of al-hadith department, presented the article under the supervision of Professor M Moinul Haque of the university.

Addressing the seminar, the speakers focused on civil rights in Islam and international human rights instruments. They also shed lights on diplomatic rights in the light of the Islamic perspective.

Around 50 teachers of different departments took part in the seminar.
