IU accounting dept gets new chairman

Professor M Ruhul Amin has been made the new chairman of accounting and information systems department of Islamic University, IU registrar office officials said on Saturday.

IU vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam appointed him to the post for the next three years.

He was appointed to the post as the tenure of previous chairman Professor M Abdus Shaheed Miah came to an end.

Professor Ruhul Amin took charge in a chairmanship handover ceremony held on the campus in Kushtia on Saturday. Ruhul Amin was accorded reception with wreath. IU accounting and information systems department Professor M Zakir Hossain conducted the programme attended by teachers and students of the department.

IUTA president Professor Kazi Akhtar Hossain, Professor Abu Sina, Professor Shelina Nasrin and among others were present on the occasion.

The newly appointed chairman said that he would work for the betterment of the department with the assistance of teachers and students of the university.
