Freedom fighters honored at NSTU

The authorities of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on March 7 honored 21 heroic freedom fighters for their special contribution in the liberation war in 1971.

The honorary ceremony was held at Haji Mohammad Idris Auditorium of the university. A guard of honor was given in front of the Central Shaheed Minar in honor of the heroic freedom fighters.

The heroic freedom fighters gave commemorative speeches and narrated the history of the days in the liberation war in 1971.
NSTU VC Prof Dr. Didar-ul-Alam was the chief guest while the program was presided over by Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammed Faruque Uddin.

Among others, NSTUTA’s President Professor Dr Newaz Mohammed Bahadur, General Secretary Maznur Rahman, leaders of officers’ association, officials, hall provosts, deans, heads of different departments, students were present at that time.

The university authorities also arranged various programs including hoisting the national flag, listening to the speech on March 7 standing in front of the administrative building,  colorful procession, wreath-laying at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and paying homage to war heroes.

Documentary exhibition on 7th March, national anthem performance, unveiling and distribution of the wrapper of the commemorative book named ‘Shei theke Shadhinota’, seminar on liberation war and cultural events and film exhibition were also held in the auditorium.
