Probe body arrives in RU

The probe committee formed by the Education Ministry has arrived in Rajshahi University (RU) to investigate the ad-hoc recruitment of 141 people to different posts who were appointed by outgoing VC.
The probe committee led by UGC member Professor Dr Muhammad Alamgir reached the campus around 11:00 am on Saturday (May 8).
The other members of the committee are: UGC member Professor Dr Muhammad Zakir Hossain, Education Ministry Joint Secretary Dr Md Zakir Hossain Akhand and UGC director Md Zaminur Rahman.
The members of the probe committee directly reached the VC office and met acting VC Professor Ananda Kumar Saha and Registrar Professor Abdus Salam.
Despite the embargo on all types of appointments by the Ministry of Education, 141 people of teachers’ relatives, journalists, BCL leaders and activists were given ad-hoc appointments on Thursday (May 6).
They were appointed to the post of teachers, officers and employees on the last working day of outgoing RU VC M Abdus Sobhan.
