BAU’s annual research progress workshop begins today

The inauguration of the annual workshop on research progress of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) under the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES) will be held on Saturday (today).

The two-day workshop titled 'Transforming Agricultural Research to Corona Impact in Bangladesh' will be held virtually.

University and workshop sources have confirmed the news.

Based on the H-index of research in the workshop, 16 researchers will be awarded with the Global Research Impact Recognition Award-2021.

In addition, Ashraf Ali Khan Smriti Krishi Puraskar-2021 will be given to 6 farm-level entrepreneurs.

A total of 19 technical sessions will be held in the workshop. It will present the results of a total of 48 research projects.

In a written statement Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahfuzul Haque said that Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak will join as the chief guest in the inauguration ceremony. Member of the General Economics Department of the Planning Commission (Senior Secretary) Prof. Dr. Shamsul Alam and Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Mezbahul Islam will be a special guest.

BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Lutful Hasan will be the main patron while BAURES director Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Hadi Nur Ali Khan will preside over the function.
