The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday (May 29) suspended an official temporarily for violating the university’s rules and regulations.

A press release, signed by IU acting registrar M Ataur Rahman, was issued in this regard on Saturday afternoon.

The suspended official was Bakul Joarder, a computer operator of Bangladesh Cadet Corps office of the university.

M Ataur Rahman said that the university vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam issued the suspension order against Bokul as he was sent to jail by a court.

He was suspended under the university’s employee efficiency and disciplinary act, he added.

On May, 24, a team of police arrested Bokul along with 89 pieces of Yaba pills from his possession at Shaikhpara Bazar adjacent to the university.

Bakul was suspended for the same reason on May 30, 2017 as he was arrested along with 200 pieces of Yaba tablets.
