IU holds seminar on parents maintenance act

A seminar on ‘Parent Maintenance Act’ was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Wednesday.

IU al-Hdith and Islamic studies department organised the seminar at the conference room of the theology faculty around 10am.

IU Theology faculty dean Professor Muhammad Solaiman addressed the seminar as the chief guest while al-hadith and Islamic studies department head Professor Syed Maksudur Rahman was in the chair.

IU al-Quran and Islamic studies department Professor M Yaqub Ali and al-Hadith and Islamic studies department Professor M Aktar Hossain delivered a speech as the discussants.

Abdul Aziz, a researcher of al-hadith and Islamic studies department, presented the article under the supervision of Professor Syed Maksudur Rahman.
Around one hundred teachers of different departments took part in the seminar.

Addressing the seminar, the speakers said every one of us should care for our parents in such a way they nourished us in our childhood.
Action, according to the act, would be taken if any children did not bear or care for their parents, the speakers added.
