IUTA gets new committee

Professor M Mizanur Rahman of the accounting and information systems department and Professor M Jahangir Hossain of Islamic history and culture department were elected as president and general secretary respectively of Islamic University Teachers’ Association on Sunday.
IUTA chief election commissioner Professor KM Abdus Sobahan announced the results around 8:00pm. A total of 346 teachers out of 396 cast their votes in the election.
Professor M Anowarul Haque Shopon was elected vice-president while Professor Mohammad Mizanur Rahman elected joint-secretary and M Abdul Bari was elected treasurer.
The other members of the committee are- Professor Shamsul Alam, Anowar Hossain, Mahbubul Arfin, Nurun Nahar, Abdus Shaheed Miah, M Jahidul Islam, Gazi M Arifuzzaman Khan, Khodeza Khatun, Rofiqul Islam and M Shahinuzzaman.
The committee would hold their posts for the next one year, IUTA chief election commissioner said.
The university authorities, IUJA, and different teacher and student organizations congratulated the newly elected body of IUTA.
