150 students get scholarship

Over 150 students in Bhola district have got ‘Alhaj Abdul Hannan Howlader Education Scholarship’ for their performances in SSC and HSC examinations in 2017 and 2018.

Former Deputy Minister Abdullah Al Islam Jakob, MP and founder of Engineer Abu Noman Howlader Foundation Engineer Abu Noman Howlader CIP handed over the scholarship at a programme held at Gulf Club in the city on September 10.

Former Commerce Minister and Awami League Advisory Committee Member Tofail Ahmed joined the programme virtually.

“Engineer Abu Noman Howlader introduced the scholarship programme in 2012 in the name of his father, and we hope the foundation will continue its scholarship programme in future”, said Tofail Ahmed.

Acting President of Bhola Samity Mahabubur Rahman Hiron presided over the programme.

Bhola Samity General Secretary Md Shahidul Haque Mukul, former Member Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad, Engineer Abdus Sabur, former Additional IGP Forruk Ahmed and Brigadier General (rtd) Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury were also present.
