Heavy pressure on Dhaka-Tangail highway

Thousands of city-dwellers are going to their homes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, to be celebrated on June 17. 

Dhaka-Tangail highway witnessed huge pressure of vehicles as the holidaymakers started leaving Dhaka and adjacent areas to celebrate Eid on the last working day on Thursday.

Passengers of the northern region are rushing to their village homes to share Eid joy with their families through Chandra of Gazipur on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.

During a visit to the highway on Friday, the correspondent saw that buses, trucks and pick-up vans were moving slowly.

An allegation has also found that transport workers are taking extra charges.
