ARSA commander arrested in Cox’s Bazar

RAB has arrested a Rohingya militant for his alleged involvement in smuggling in weapons from conflict-torn Myanmar and conducting sabotage activities within refugee camps in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

The arrestee is Mohammad Zakaria, a gun commander of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).

He was arrested with a G3 rifle from the Balukhali Rohingya Camp-10 in Ukhiya on Thursday night.

RAB-15 officer Lieutenant Colonel HM Sazzad Hossain disclosed this at a press briefing on Friday.
