Sylhet city inundated, Eid celebration disturbed

Due to incessant rain, the Sylhet city has gone underwater, causing disturbances to Eid-ul-Azha celebration.

During visit on Monday morning, in many parts of the city has gone down from knee to waist water. 

At that time, the city-dwellers faced huge suffering to offer Eid prayers and slaughter their sacrificial animals.

Assistant Director of Sylhet Met Office Sajib Hossain said the downpour started at around 2am on Monday.

About 86mm of rain was recorded from 6:00am to 9:00am on Monday. About 173.6mm rain was recorded at that same tine of Sunday.
