Water level of Jamuna River may increase

Flood situation has improved slightly in many districts after water levels of major rivers of the regions decreased but flood situation in Manikganj district has remained unchanged.

Water level of the Jamuna river increased by 4cm at Aricha Point and it is now flowing 31 cm above the danger level at the point. Water level of the river may increase, sources said.

Md Faruk Ahmed, an official of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) of Shibalaya upazila, confirmed the matter.

BWDB official Md Badar Uddin said water level of Dhaleshwari has decreased 6-8cm but water level is still flowing 79cm above the danger level at Jagir Point.

BWDB official Md Rafiqul Islam said water level of Kaliganga has decreased 4 cm but water level is still flowing 78cm above the danger level at Jagir Point.
