7 deer poachers held in Sundarbans

The forest department has arrested seven poachers along with a trawler and traps from Sundarbans.

The arrestees are – Ibrahim Biswas, son of Munsur Ali, Unus, 18, son of Ibrahim, Mostafa, 30, son of Ismail, Shukur Ali, 19, son of Abdul Haque, Ilias, 30, son of Abdul Hamid, Razu, 25, son of Habib Mollah, Jakir Kazi, 35, son of Salam Kazi.

Acting on secret information, the law enforcers conducted a drive in Kachikhola area under Sharankhola range of Sundarbans early morning on Saturday (August 15).

Confirming the matter, Mohammad Belayet Hossain, divisional forest officer (DFO) of Sundarbans East Department, the arrestees will be produced before the court on Sunday.
