9kg gold recovered in Jashore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 57 gold bars, weighing 9kg and 200gm from Sharsha in Jashore district on Friday night.

BGB members also arrested a woman, Banechha Khatun, 35, around 10.00pm from Sadipur village in this connection. She was the wife of Dukho Mia.

Being informed, BGB members conducted a drive at her house and recovered the gold bars.

Lt Col Md Selim Reza, commanding officer of BGB 49 battalion, confirmed this.The woman confessed she kept the gold bars for trafficking into India.

According to the BGB, the value of the seized gold bars may be Tk 5.00 crore.
