Father-son killed in M’singh road accident

A man and his son were killed and 12 others injured in a collision between pickup and microbus in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh while they were making their way to haor on tour purpose.

The deceased were identified as Fahad Alam, 32 and his five-year son Turan Alam.

The accident took place on the Mymensingh-Kishoreganj highway at Dangri in the upazila around 9:45 am on Saturday (September 19).

Abdul Malek, an officer at fire service of Nandail upazila, confirmed the news.

Fire service team leader Abdul Malek said, Fahad Alam and his son were going to Nikoli haor of Kishoreganj from Sherpur by a microbus on tour purpose. The microbus collided head on with a pickup bound for Mymensingh when it reached at Dangri of Nandail upazila, leaving Turan Alam dead on the spot and Fahad Alam critically injured.

Critically injured Fahad Alam died while he was being taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, he said.

Among those injured, seven were taken to Nandail upazila health complex and the remaining five to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, he further said.
