Satkhira 4-murder: Remand hearing of Raihan Sunday

The remand hearing of Raihan, who was arrested in the sensational four-murder case occurred at Kalaroa in Satkhira, is set to take place on Sunday (October 18).

A Satkhira court fixed the day for hearing after he was produced before it and sought for a 10-day remand on Friday (October 16).

CID Inspector Toriqul Islam, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, confirmed the matter around 6:00pm on Friday (October 16).

He said, “Raihan, younger brother of Shahinur, was shown arrested in the case. He was produced before the court and sought for a 10-day remand for him. Hearing will take place on Sunday. He is currently behind the bar.”

On Thursday (October 15) a couple along with their two children were found dead at Khalshi village Kalaroa upazila in Satkhira.

The deceased were known as Shahinur Rahman, 39, son of Shahajahan Ali of Khalshi village, his wife Sabina Khatun, 33, their son Siam Hossain Mahi, 10, and daughter Taslima Sultana, 8.

However, a five-month-old child Maria of the family was found alive.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. After autopsies, the bodies were buried at Brojbox village on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Raihanul, younger brother of deceased’s Shahinur, briefed media that the killing might have been occurred from a 22-year-long land dispute worth Tk 1 crore with neighbours.

However, he was shown arrested in the case after interrogation.
