Now schoolgirl allegedly raped in Sylhet

This time, a schoolgirl has allegedly been raped at Companyganj in Sylhet.

The alleged rapist was known as Miraz Ali, 40, of the area.

The incident reportedly took place around 8:00pm on Saturday (October 17).

Victim’s father filed a case in this connection with Companyganj Police Station on Monday (October 19).

According to police, the ninth-grader girl went to fetch water from a tube well nearby of the house on Saturday night.  Miraz Ali held her face tightly and took her to a nearby place. There he raped her. Hearing the screaming, family members rushed to the spot and rescued her.

Companyganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) K M Nazrul said, “Police are conducting drive to arrest the accused Miraz. The victim schoolgirl was sent to the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Osmani Medical College and Hospital for medical checkup.
