Cocktail attack on magistrate’s car

A cocktail attack has been carried out on magistrate’s car in Chittagong’s Lohagara Upazila over alleged forgery in voting in Amirabad Union Parishad elections, leaving driver of the car seriously injured.
The incident took place at Nojibunnesa Government Primary School Centre under ward no 2 of Sadar union parishad around 2:30pm on Tuesday (October 20).
Magistrate Nilufa Yeasmin Chowdhury confirmed the news.
She said, “Being informed over irregularities and forge voting at the center, I went to the centre. As soon as she reached the spot, miscreants hurled two cocktails on her car, leaving the driver Mohammad Shahed injured. He was sent to Chattogram medical College and Hospital for treatment.
She survived as the cocktails did not fall on the car directly, the magistrate added.
Police have already started drives to nab miscreants since the incident.
