Fire at Sylhet’s Kumargaon Power Station

A terrible fire broke out at Kumargaon Power Station in Sylhet, snapping power supply in the entire district.

The incident took place around 11:30 am on Tuesday. As a result, the power system in Sylhet district was cut off.

On information, five fire fighters rushed to the spot immediately and brought the fire under control after one hour of frantic efforts.

Confirming the incident, PDB Chief Engineer Mokammel Hossain said, “Two grids of the power plant were burnt. However, the cause of the fire was not known yet.”
