9 killed as trolley overturns at Sonamasjid

At least nine people were killed as a paddy-laden human hauler locally known as trolley overturned in Sonamasjid area under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj early Thursday.

All the deceased are labourers. Seven of deceased were identified Babu, son Erfan Ali at Baliadighi village under Shabajpur Union of Shibganj upazila, Tajemul Haq, son of Sheikh Mohammad, his son Mithun, Md Karim, son of Kabil Uddin, Milu, son of Amanul, Abul Kashem, son of Nawshad, and Ataur Rahman, son of Rehman at Lawghata village.

Deputy Assistant Director of Chapainawabganj Fire Service Saber Ali Pramanik the accident took place around 5.30am. Seven died one the spot and two died on way to hospital.

There were 15 labourers in the trolley. The injured have been admitted to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex.

Chapainawabganj Additional Police Super Mahbubul Alam Khan confirmed the news.
