Newborn rescued from jungle in Tangail

A newborn girl was rescued from a roadside jungle of Pathalia Sukipara village at Dhanbari of Tangail.

Local Mamata Begum found the baby girl on Monday (November 30) morning.

Local Union Parishad (UP) member Khalilur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Quoting locals, he said, “Muslim devotees were returning home after Fazr prayers early in the morning. Then they noticed crying of a baby from jungle. They rushed following sound and found there a baby girl. At that time, Mamata Begum, who was walking on the road, reached there and rescued the baby. Later, she took the newborn to a local hospital.

Upazila health complex’s physician Doctor Shahnaz Sultana said, “An injury mark was found under its chest. Later, the baby was sent to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.”
