7 Myanmar citizens held with three lakh yaba pills in Teknaf

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has arrested seven Myanmar citizens along with 2.80 lakh pieces of yaba pills at Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar.

They were arrested from Katabunia area in Sabrang union of the upazila early Wednesday.

Station Officer of Teknaf Coastguard Lieutenant Commander Amirul Haque said a patrol team of Coast Guard challenged a boat near the Katabunia Ghat but ignoring the Coast Guard signal they opened fire targeting the Coast Guard members.

Later, the team seized the boat and recovered the yaba pills of 28 packets and detained the Myanmar citizens.

A case will be filed in this regard, said the official.
