BNP candidate boycotts Ishwardi municipal polls

BNP-backed mayoral candidate Rafikul Islam Nayon has boycotted the Ishwardi municipal polls on the allegations of beating BNP activists and leaders, pulling them out of polling stations, forcing them to seal for boat and massive vote rigging and irregularities.

Rafikul Islam Nayon announced the decision at a press conference at his residence around 1:15 pm on Saturday (January 16).

The BNP-candidate alleged that he was beaten up and later pulled out of Islamia Alia Madrasa polling station when he visited the centre around 9:30 am.

In his speech, he complained of beating BNP activists and leaders, pulling them out of polling stations, forcing them to seal for boat and massive vote rigging by Awami League leaders and activists and irregularities.
