Microbus falls into Padma river while boarding ferry

A microbus carrying five passengers fell into the Padma river after it lost control while getting on a ferry at Paturia ghat on the Paturia-Daulatdia route.
The incident took place around 9:00 am at Paturia ferry terminal 5 on Thursday (January 21).
Mujibur Rahman, station officer of Aricha cum River Fire Station, confirmed the information.
Mujibur Rahman said a microbus heading towards Rajbari fell into the Padma river while getting on a ferry in the morning.
On information, two units of the fire service rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation. All the five passengers inside the microbus were rescued, he said.
