Ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia route halted

Ghat authority has suspended ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia river route due to the intensified density of fog.

Md Zillur Rahman, Aricha office DGM of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), confirmed this around 6 am on Friday.

Ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia river route has been suspended as the extent of dense fog intensified in the Padma river from mid night.

As a result, many vehicles were seen stranded on the roads adjacent to the Paturia and Daulatdia ferry terminals waiting to cross the Padma river, he said.

Ferry service on the river route will resume when the density of fog reduces, he added.
