A 17-km long tailback has been created on Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway as toll collection was suspended in several phases due to thick fog.
As a result, several hundred of vehicles got stuck on both lanes of the highway, leaving passengers of the route in immense suffering.
Md Kamal Hossain, in-charge of Elenga Highway Police Outpost, confirmed the news.
“The long tailback has been created on Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway as toll collection was suspended in several phases due to dense fog from Thursday night. Vehicular movement will become normal once the fog disappears,” he said.
