Two killed as ambulance turns turtle in Madaripur

Two people were killed and three others injured as an ambulance turned turtle in Simana area on Dhaka-Khulna highway under Shibchar upazila of Madaripur on Friday (January 22).

The deceased were identified as Khadiza Begum, 55, wife of Anwar Hossain Talukdar, and Mehedi Hasan, 17, son of Jalal Mia.

Highway police and witnesses said, the ambulance turned turtle carrying the victims after its driver lost control over its steering at 1:00 pm, leaving the two dead on the spot and three others injured.

Later, the injured were sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Shibchar Highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sohrab Ahmed said, on information, police recovered the bodies.
