UP chairman in Manikganj suspended

Kazi Reza, chairman of Balla Union Parishad in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj has been temporarily suspended over various irregularities.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Saiful Islam confirmed the matter on around 3:30pm Saturday (January 23).

The directive was signed on Thursday (January 21) by Md Abu Jafar Ripon, senior assistant secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives.

According to the notification, three cases have been filed against the union parishad chairman. So the authority took the decision for the sake of people’s welfare.

The accused UP Chairman Kazi Reza said, the reply will be submitted to the UNO in this regard.
