Upazila AL president files case against Natore MP

A case has been filed against the lawmaker Shahidul Islam Bakul of Natore-1 constituency.

Upazila Awami League president Aftab Hossain Jhulfu filed the case on charge of filling union committee illegally in Lalpur upazila.

Mahabub Alam, Assistant Judge of Natore’s Lalpur court issued a show cause notice in this regard following the case.

District Awami League law affairs secretary Advocate Prashad Kumar Talykdar confirmed the matter on Thursday (February 25).

The plaintiff of the case said the local lawmaker formed a committee in the union with his followers which is violation of party rules. As a result, an agitation has been created among the party leaders and activists of the upazila.

Earlier on February 21, Lawmaker Shahidul Islam Bakul announced a committee in a council at Sheikh Cheelan Government Primary School. Later, on February 23, Upazila Awami League president Aftab Hossain Jhulfu filed the case mentioning six names.
