Motorcycle collision leaves 3 dead in Jhenaidah

Three people were killed in a collision between two motorcycles in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah.

The accident took place on Friday (February 26) afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Shouvik Bishwas, 23, son of Shimul Bishwas, Sohel Rana, 28, son of Juwel Rana and Akram Hossain, 37, son of Chhanaruddin of Jhenaidah's Kotchandpur upazila.

Jhenaidah additional superintendent of police (circle) Abul Bashar said Shouvik was going to Kotchandpur on his motorcycle. When he reached Patbila bus stand area around 5:00pm on Friday, another motorbike collided head on with his bike while trying to overtake a bus, leaving Shouvik dead on the spot and four others injured.

Of them, Sohel and Akram were taken to Jashore Sadar Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries around 7:00pm and the condition of two other injured is critical, he said.
