Journalist Mujakkir murder: PBI yet to detain killers

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) personnel have yet to arrest the killers who allegedly killed journalist Borhan Uddin Mujakkir in Companiganj of Noakhali.

Nur Uddin, brother of the slain journalist said, “Following the murder, my father filed a murder case with Companiganj police station on Tuesday. As we were not attended on the spot on that day, so we could not mention names. The case was sent to PIB. We hope the murderers will be arrested soon.”

PIB Investigation Officer Mostafizur Rahman said, ‘We are investigating the issue after getting the case. Every single matter is important. Initiative is underway to arrest the killers identify them.”

Borhan, the Companiganj correspondent of a news portal, died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital on February 20 after he had been shot while covering a clash between two factions of the ruling Awami League at Chaprashirhat of Companiganj on February 19.
