130 people fined for flouting health rules in Sirajganj

Mobile courts in Sirajganj have fined 130 people more than Tk 50,000 for not complying with the health guidelines issued by the government to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Sirajganj’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain confirmed the information on Tuesday (April 6) morning.

Executive Magistrate Md Masudur Rahman, in charge of district administration’s corona cell, said, “A total of 15 mobile courts led by executive magistrates of nine upazilas of the district were conducted from Monday (April 5) morning till night and 130 people were fined Tk 51,490 on charges of operating business firms, not using a mask and going outside without any valid reason amid lockdown.”

A total of 109 cases have been filed in this connection, he said.
