After visiting the spot, it has been noticed that many parts of the hills have collapsed and the remaining parts are at the risk.
Chittaranjan Dev Burman said, “We are looking forward to the administration. This way, three years have already passed but the solution to this end is still out of reach.”
“We are born at the hills and that’s why we wish to live here till the last breath. This place is favourite to us. We do not cut down hills. Rather, we try our best to protect our hills. But we are helpless to a section of people who are involved in cutting hills.,” he added.
Chunarughat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Satyajit Roy Das said, “We have formally written to the ministry concerned soliciting funds required for the protection of hills. Repair work will resume once the allocation reaches.”
