Rafiqul Islam Madani sent to jail under DSA

A court in Gazipur has ordered police to send Rafiqul Islam Madani, widely known as “Shishu Bokta”, to jail in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).

Judge Md Shariful Islam of Gazipur Chief Judicial Magistrate Court passed the order after police produced him before the court on Thursday (April 8).

Gazipur Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Mohammad Iltut Mish came up with the development.

RAB-1 Nayek Subedar Mohammad Abdul Khaleque filed the case with Gachha police station in Gazipur city against Islamic preacher Rafiqul Islam Madani under Digital Security Act on Thursday (April 8) morning, Iltut Mish said.

The case was filed against him on charges of making provocative “anti-state” speech and inciting chaos, he further said.

Earlier on Wednesday (April 7), Rapid Action Battalion arrested Rafiqul Islam Madani from his village home Netrakona district.
