Dead whale washed up on Himchhari beach

A dead whale has washed ashore on Himchhari beach in Cox's Bazar.

The dead marine mammal is around 44 feet long and is found on the beach on Friday noon (April 9).

Forest Department and District Administration said, decision has been taken to determine the cause of death.

On the other hand, hundreds of people have gathered at the beach to see the huge dead animal.

Mohammad Kamruzzaman, forest official of Cox's Bazar (South) said, investigation is needed as injury mark found at the dead whale. Veterinary surgeon from wildlife and nature conservation division has been informed.

Earlier, a similar whale was found dead in Cox’s Bazar sea beach in 1991.
