Pressure of vehicles on Dhaka-Paturia route increases

The traffic gridlock worsened since this noon due to extra pressure of small vehicles, causing tailback in Paturia Ghat area.
Home goers started to move towards their native villages as the government announced fresh lockdown from April 14 to contain the spread of Coronavirus infection.
Long-route transport service were declared shut across the country. That’s why people are leaving the capital using small vehicles- private car, HIACE and microbuses. Over 200 small vehicles were seen in Ghat number -5.
Besides, people were seen to move Paturia Ghat area riding motorcycle, CNGs.
BIWTA Aricha office AGM (commerce) Nasim Mohammad Chowdhury said, ferry service is going on in the route following the direction of higher authority.
A total of 16 ferries are providing services right now in Paturia-Daulatdia route, he added.
