Five killed in Sylhet road accident

A truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Jaintiapur upazila of Sylhet on Sunday (May 2) morning, leaving five people including four of a family dead and two others injured.

The incident took place on the Sylhet-Tamabil highway in Ferighat area of the upazila around 6:40am.

The deceased were identified as driver of CNG-run auto-rickshaw Hossain Ahmed, 35, Sadia Begum, 35, wife of late Jamal Ahmed, her four-month son Shahadat Hossain, seven-year daughter Sabia Begum and Habibunnesa, 33, sister-in-law of Sadia Begum.

Besides, Jakaria, 50, brother-in-law of Sadia Begum and his wife Hasina Begum, 40, have been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.

Jaintiapur police officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Dastagir confirmed the news to risingbd.
