Schoolboy shot dead in Sylhet: Case filed

A case has been filed over the killing a schoolboy, Sumel Ahmed Shukur, 17, over mud cutting of a land in Bishwanath of Sylhet.
The deceased’s cousin Ibrahim Ali Sijil filed the case accusing 27 people including expatriate Saiful Alam Prodhan.
The schoolboy was shot dead during a clash between two groups over mud cutting at Chaitan Nagar village of the upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was son of Abdul Manik of Chaitan Nagar village and a student of 10th grade of local Shahjalal Ghagutia High School.
Police arrested five persons in the connection and seized two passports of Saiful Alam Prodhan.
Officer-in-Charge of Bishwanath Thana Shamim Musa confirmed the news on Monday night.
Eight people received bullet injury in the clash.
