No crisis of oxygen in Bangladesh: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Tuesday said there is no shortage of medicines of Coronavirus in Bangladesh. I still don't see the lack of oxygen here.

The health minister said this while addressing a food distribution program among at Manikganj’s Garpara on Friday (May 7).

He said that Coronavirus crisis in Bangladesh was under control. Then, it goes out of control again. There was 2000 bed for Covid-19 patients last year. Now the number rise to 8000 in Dhaka city. There are 12 to 13 thousand beds in the whole country.

Central oxygen system has been set up in 130 hospitals in last one year. A total of 16,000 beds are available in these hospitals, he added.

Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous, Police Super Rifat Rahman Shamim, District Awami League president advocate Golam Mahiuddin and others joined the program.
