Long-route buses plying on Dhaka-Tangail highway

Long-route buses, private cars and CNG-run vehicles are plying on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway, ignoring all restrictions set by the government.

The health guidelines are not being followed among the passengers and drivers of these vehicles. Traffic congestion has increased on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu highway, the gateway to North Bengal, from Saturday (May 8) morning. As a result, vehicles are moving at a slow speed.

During visit, such view was seen in Gharinda, Kandila, Rabna, Bikramhati, Rasulpur and Elenga areas of the highway. People are going to their destinations by trucks and fish carts at the risk of corona. People are also going to their destinations by buses and private cars. The pressure of homebound people has increased centering the Eid. People are rushing to their destinations at the risk of corona with extra fares.
