Madrasa principal arrested over sexual harassment charges

Police has arrested a madrasa principal for sexually abusing four child students at an orphanage in South Surma of Sylhet.
The accused Syed Delwar Hossain is the principal of Shahjalal Tamjidia Madrasa and Orphanage at Mominkhala of South Surma. His village home is at Fulsaind village of Golapganj in Sylhet.
A student's guardian called 999 and lodged a detailed complaint with the police. Later, police arrested him on Sunday night (May 23).
A guardian named Siraj has filed a case against the principal.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police’s South Surma Police Station OC Monirul Islam confirmed the information.
The OC said there are 50-60 students in the orphanage. The principal had been calling four students to his room and raping them for the last few days. Police arrested him on Sunday night and rescued four victims and brought them to the police station.
