20km traffic jam on Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway

A 20-km long tailback has been created on the Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway as toll collection was suspended for several hours and due to rain early Tuesday.

The traffic jam started from east of Bangabandhu Bridge and continued till Rabna area of Tangail Sadar upazila.

Yasir Arafat, in-charge of the Elenga Highway police outpost, confirmed the news.

As a result, several hundred vehicles got stuck on both lanes of the highway, leaving passengers of the route in immense suffering.

The vehicular movement will become normal as time advances, he added.
