Strict lockdown begins in Kushtia

A seven-day strict lockdown imposed by the local administration began in Kushtia district from Friday midnight to stem the spread of Covid-19 amid the fear of Indian variant of the virus.
The lockdown began at 12.00am and will continue till June 18 midnight.
Deputy Commissioner Md Saidul Islam confirmed the matter on Saturday morning.
No vehicles are being allowed to enter or exit these places.
However, vehicles involved in providing emergency services, ambulances, goods-laden vehicles, patient carrying vehicles, are allowed to move on roads.
All shops and weekly haats except pharmacies will remain shut during the period.
