Wife-two children killed: Husband remanded for 5 days

A Sylhet court has placed Hifzur Rahman on a five-day remand in a case filed over killing his pregnant wife and two children at Gowainghat in the district.

Judge Anjan Kanti Das of Gowainghat Amli Court passed the order on Sunday (June 20).

Earlier, Hifzur was discharged from MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospita, Sylhet. Then, Inspector Dilip Kanti Nath of Gowainghat Police Station, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced him before the court and sought for a 7-day remand in the case.

Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Ahad confirmed the matter.

Police recovered bodies of Alema Begum, 30, her son Mizan, 8, daughter Anisa, 3, from their living home of Binnakandi village of Gowainghat upazila.

Hifzur was also rescued from there with injury.
