2 ferries plying on Paturia-Daulatdia route

The strict lockdown announced by the government before the holy Eid-ul-Azha to prevent coronavirus (Covid-19) infections is underway.

Two ferries are plying on the Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma river to carry emergency vehicles and ambulances.

Md Zillur Rahman, DGM of Aricha Ferry Ghat of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), confirmed the news.

“A total of 16 ferries are operated on the route. But now we are operating two ferries to carry emergency vehicles and ambulances. We are committed to implement restrictions of the lockdown”, he said
