Gunmen open fire on Bandarban tourist bus, leaving two injured

A group of armed members of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (JSS-original) opened fire on a tourist bus at Golachipa on Rangamati-Bandarban road on Saturday (September 18) evening, leaving two women injured.
The gunmen opened some 140 to 150 bullets at the bus. They injured were known as Yeisingnu Marma and Mehaising Marma. Later, the driver drove the bus nearby Bangalhalia bazar where all the tourists took shelter.
The two wounded women were firstly given primary aids. Later, they were admitted to Chondroghona Cristian Hospital at Kaptai in Rangamati for advance treatment. Meanwhile, others passengers of the bust rushed to Poatimukh area of Rajasthali upazila from Bangalhalia bazar.
Bandarban Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahidul Islam Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
He said, “The situation currently prevails normal in the area. Members of army and police have been deployed there.”
