Bullets thrown at UP chairman’s house in Pabna, highway blocked

Miscreants have allegedly thrown bullets and hand bombs targeting the house of AM Rafiqullah, chairman of Puran Bharenga Union Parishad in Bera upazila of Pabna.
The incident took place early Sunday (September 19).
Protesting the attack, supporters of the union parishad chairman started demonstrating at Kashinathpur intersection on the Dhaka-Pabna highway from 8am today. As a result, the vehicular movement has remained halted. The demonstration was underway till filing this report at 11 am.
When contacted, Chairman AM Rafiqullah said, “A group of miscreants threw 11 cocktails and several bullets targeting my house around 3am. However, no casualties were reported.”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Aminpur Police Station Raushan Ali said, “After being informed from locals, police rushed to the spot and are now trying to normalize the vehicular movement.”
