Two workers die in Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant

Two workers have died and other one received injury after an iron bar fell on them at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna.

The deceased were identified as – Moniruzzaman Moni, 32 and Madhab Chandra Sarkar, 44.

Police said, workers were setting up an iron pole at 100 feet above the ground in the power plant around 1:00pm on Monday (September 20). Meanwhile, a part of the iron bar fell on them, leaving the three workers injured.

Later, the injured were taken to Ishwardi Hospital where duty doctors declared the duo dead.

Ishwardi police station Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman said, a case of unnatural death has been filed following the incident.
