ASI stabbed dead by drug addict

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Piarul Islam has been stabbed to death reportedly by a drug addict in Rangpur.

Piarul Islam hailed from Moghalhat union in Lalmonirhat district. He was an ASI of Haragach Thana of Rangpur Metropolitan Police. He joined the police service in 2012.

Officer-in-Charge of Haragach Thana Shawkat Ali Sarkar confirmed the news. Police has already arrested drug addict Polash in connection with the incident, he also said.

Drug addict Polash stabbed ASI Piarul Islam when he went to arrest the drug addict on Friday night. The injured was immediately taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he died at 11.15am on Saturday.
